My Story
I’ve been making up recipes for years, and since I started making meals for my boyfriend, I felt accountable to start taking my presentation more seriously.
Once I made a recipe and plated it, I was so proud of how pretty it looked that I’d take a photo and send it to my family group chat. They would say how delicious it looked, and then when it came to my boyfriend tasting the recipe, he would also tell me how delicious it was.
Being me, I always ask for a food rating - “out of 10, how much?”
He says 10 instantly.
I wanted him to be critical so I can improve.
“Come on, it can’t be 10 - be honest.”
“It’s a 10.”
Every time. 10.
I started to wonder... is it really that good?
To me, these recipes were normal. I’ve been creating meals like this my whole life.
Not long after, friends and family kept telling me I should start sharing my food online.
I’ve always had a genuine passion for healthy cooking, so eventually I gave it a go.
I created my account, @bysquibb, posted my first recipe video... then another... and another.
And I never really stopped.
From day one, I started sharing a recipe every day - almost like a food diary I didn’t expect anyone to
see.
I didn’t think much would come from it.
Until I posted my carrot cake I’d been perfecting for years.
Within a week, my DMs were flooded.
Then another recipe.
Then another.
Within a few months, millions of people were showing up in my kitchen through a screen.
And I realised this passion had been sitting in my gut for a reason.
Here’s what I actually believe about food:
healthy shouldn’t feel like punishment.
The fewer ingredients on a label, the better.
The word "diet" has done more damage than good.
Most people don't need a meal plan - they need permission to enjoy real food again.
I don't count calories.
I don't demonize butter.
I don't swap every ingredient for its "healthy version."
I cook what tastes good using what nature actually made.
The cookbook exists because you asked for it.
Every day the same messages - “where’s the full recipe?”, “can you write it out?”, “do you have all of
these in one place?”
So I finally did.
45+ of my most-loved, most-asked-about healthy recipes: the Carrot Cake that started this whole
thing, the Banana Pancake Bites I make on lazy Sundays, the homemade ice cream I swore I'd keep
to myself.
All in one place, finally.
When I'm not cooking, I'm probably still in the kitchen - testing something, reworking a recipe, or
feeding my boyfriend whatever came out of a Tuesday afternoon experiment.
I don't have a big production team.
It's just me, my kitchen and my camera.
Thank you for being here. For real.
This community turned a private passion into something that actually matters
And I don't take a single one of you for granted.
